Hutchinson High School Bands

Hutchinson High School offers a robust jazz program.  There are typically two ensembles depending on student interest in a given year: Jazz I and Jazz II.   Both groups rehearse weekly after school.  Jazz I is an auditioned ensemble and performs throughout the year, including appearances at Large Group Contest and Swing Into Spring, a yearly event held at Crow River Winery.  Jazz II is not auditioned and often serves as an opportunity for students to try jazz for the first time or on a new instrument.  The ensemble’s performance opportunities vary from year-to-year based on membership.
